UPS Sizing Tool Help | X |
---|---|
The UPS Sizing Tool is straightforward to use. Select your line Voltage - the button toggles between 110V and 240V. The Expansion setting allows for a specified percentage of additional hardware to be added to the configuration at a later stage. Run-Time allows you to configure how long the UPS will hold the systems up for on batteries. You can now enter details of up to 12 systems you wish to protect. Description is for your information only. If you no not enter a description, a generic name will be entered for you. Watts and Amps determine the load this system is going to place on the UPS. If you enter a value in Watts, the Amps value is automatically calculated for you, and vice-versa. You can Add and Remove systems at your discretion. To achieve the most accurate results, an ammeter should be used to measure the current draw of each system to be protected, and these values used when building your report. Using values as quoted on the devices themselves will usually deliver 30-60% overspecification depending upon configuration. You should be aware that the battery units within any UPS deteriorate over time. A default expansion potential of 30% is used to compensate for this, but any UPS hardware purchased should be tested regularly to ensure optimal battery performance. When you are happy with the data, click Report and you will be taken to a confirmation page asking for your e-mail address. Once this is done, the UPS Sizing Report will be e-mailed immediately to your mailbox. |
